Hazel Alice Valier

	Hazel Alice Valier died at 12:08 a.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2000 in the Pinckneyville Community Hospital Skilled Care Unit.  Mrs. Valier was born January 7, 1907, the only child of Guy and Grace (Kennedy) Marlow of Rural Route Tamaroa.  Hazel was a graduate of DuQuoin High School.  She was a lifelong member of the Nine Mile Baptist Church, where for many years, she served as pianist and treasurer for the church.
	On March 12, 1925 she married Claude Valier and he preceded her in death on June 27, 1959.  To this union tow sons were born and survive her.  They are Charles W. Chuck Valier and his wife Margaret of Mt. Vernon, IN and James Carroll Valier and his wife Paulette of Pinckneyville.  Also surviving are five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
	Prior to 1989, Hazel lived where she was born , east of Pinckneyville in her residence on Valier Road.  IN addition to being a homemaker, Hazel taught piano lessons and she was retired from Marshall Browning Hospital where she worked in the Dietary department.
	Funeral services were held Monday, January 17 in the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville at 11 a.m. with Reverend Raymond Baggott officiating.  Interment was in Paradise Cemetery in rural DuQuoin.
	Friends were able to call at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home on Sunday from 4 until 8 p.m. and on Monday from 8 a.m. until time of services.
